We're a technology empowerment service for people living with sight loss. That means we do two things.
We give free tech to those who need it most. Whether that's a smart speaker to build every day independence, or one of our other devices that make the world wider, brighter and more connected.
But we're also here to help you get to grips with tech, and find the confidence to make the most of it. And we're going to be doing even more. In response to our deepest-ever research, we're building new support services that build belief and confidence with tech - tailored to you, face-to-face, until it clicks.

How we help children & young people
We believe children living with sight loss should have the same learning, play and connection as any other child.
From accessible audiobook players to smart speakers designed for kids, we get the right technology to young people and families — and work with schools and partner organisations to reach those who need us most.

How we help older people
A huge proportion of the people who come to us have lost their sight as they've got older. Many have lived full, active lives but they haven't grown up with tech like younger people have. And then everything changes, and tech becomes a barrier.
Our own research found that 44 per cent of people aged 55 and over are not comfortable with tech. We start where they are. No pressure. No jargon. Just a friendly, patient person who's there until it clicks.
Our iPad project with Healthworks
Last year we launched our second iPad pilot project, working with Newcastle-based community health charity Healthworks to target our support to those in the greatest financial need.
Independence through tech: our AI glasses project
Together with Liverpool-based charity Bradbury Fields, we gathered a focus group of people living with sight loss to explore the benefits of AI smart glasses for our community.
Unlocking audio at St Vincent's School
At St Vincent’s School in, pupils are discovering new ways to learn, connect and grow, thanks to a partnership with Visably.
"Tech isn't just computers, gizmos and shiny blue-sky futures. For someone like me, it's colour, sound, connection, expression... But, when it's not working, it can really hurt. That's where the new, flexible tech support Visably is trying to build comes in – giving people a helping hand when they need it, how they need it, and all with that friendly, human touch that meant the world to me."
