Our iPad project with Healthworks
Last year we launched our second iPad pilot project, this time with Newcastle-based community health charity Healthworks.
Working closely with the team at Healthworks, we identified families who would most benefit from the technology and who were assessed as in particular financial need.
"Chippy loving his iPad"
We gave free iPads to 20 children, tracking the impact on their lives. As we grow our offer for children, the evidence from this pilot will help us build new partnerships and find investment to be able to offer this kind of support at scale, across the UK.
The pilot comes after we ran similar projects in other parts of the country. By gathering evidence from our pilot projects, we hope to extend funding to be able to offer this technology at scale to more children and young people nationwide.
How we help children and families
Children living with sight loss deserve the same adventures, stories and connection as any other child. We give free technology to children and young people, and work with families and schools to make sure it reaches those who need it most.
